My experience is similar to some of the other reviewers. Initially the device worked well, it was nice and fast. Within a few weeks the drive suddenly disappeared from my search box and refused to come back on any of my computers despite numerous tries and approaches. In short, the Thunderbolt connection is dead. The device still works in USB mode, but I can buy larger USB sticks for little money. An email support request from Buffalo resulted in a fairly quick response requesting payment for the device's RMA. Subsequent letters went unanswered. I tried calling the support hotline and despite being told my call was "very important" I waited almost 45 minutes before giving up. Now I need to securely erase all data - slowly transfer everything to another computer and ship the device back via Revain. I'm glad I bought it from them and can benefit from their return policy! This is an area where Apple should have been better by offering industry support for Thunderbolt. The concept is great, but without a decent ecosystem, it saves an undue premium.
