I'm the type of guy who hears a new audio system and gets emotional when I hear new details in the music I have. never heard. That's my superpower: I hear tastes of things like Gordon Ramsey. Sound: Do they sound good? Short answer: Absolutely, if you like Grado's signature warm bass. and much more. That's the problem. Every manufacturer has a specific frequency response curve they are aiming for. On the other hand, Shure has a flatter response; And if you're used to hearing Bose's sweetened bass and soaring highs that make it difficult to escape the midrange. Shure might not be that exciting. but definitely more accurate and closer to mid-range. The Grado profile aims for warm bass and highest frequencies to offer the listener an excellent stereo image. The powerful midrange is muted, but not as strong as the Bose. These headphones are more detailed with almost the same powerful bass. Compared to Shure's flat frequency response, you might think that the Grado headphones are too bass-heavy. it was stuck right in my ear canal. I'd love to hear music louder, but Grado's mid-bass is quite heavy. Not limp, just warm and heavy. If you want tight bass, try the AKG. Compared to my Jaybirds, the Grado tone is more authentic, natural and pleasant. Jaybirds sound like Photoshop sound, and that's the point: they come with an equalizer app. Fit: As the owner of a Shure 215, Bose and a drawer full of cheap headphones, these Grados are as comfortable as any. Much more comfortable than Skull Candy or Jaybirds. One real complaint: the packaging says it's specifically compatible with Apple. Apple didn't have universal audio jacks. I have a non-Apple phone so I figured I made a mistake buying the Apple version and started going back to Revain. I found later that it still works on my phone but the packaging needs to be clearer.
