A lot of people have trouble with the initial setup. When you get the light, plug it in and turn it on. The button turns white. Click again and it's 24/7. The button turns green. Power off, the button turns red. After that, download the application. You need to update the firmware. Turn on Bluetooth on your device beforehand. You can connect with the light. It will most likely disconnect from Bluetooth when the update is complete. I think the automatic restart was involved, which explains it. You need to tell the app to reconnect. Just clicking the big blue screen with the gray Bluetooth icon might not reconnect. Strike back and choose Light again. If that doesn't work, turn the light off and on again with the button and try again. If that doesn't work, restart the app. It works. It is save. Sometimes it twitches a bit when connected via Bluetooth. Also, it's Bluetooth, with no range. Stand directly in front of the tank, not in another room or more than 10 feet away if you have connection problems. I have 3 of these lamps. I had lights that were too bright. I like the spectrum control I get from the app. One assessment said they could not work at night. It's not like that at all. There are many modes, one of which is called Pro. In which you can have as many periods of darkness as you like by simply setting all the lights to 0% and then setting the time you want them to light up by adding another time to 0%. Then add your gauges and sunrise peak times. It turns on at the second 0% and increases over time until it reaches the time you set for the highest sunrise. That's all you have to do. Add a second 0%. From there, add another line of noon percentages for the spectrum you want. Then add a line for the start of sunset and a line for 0% to turn off if you want. I think there are ten possible lines. I change all day long Reddish mornings, yellowish afternoons, crystal blue nights. Nice to watch the sunrise with a cup of coffee. In addition, this app has an FAQ/Help section and a guide. They really try to help. Can't recommend enough. I wish I had been paid to say that. I would really spend time checking if that's the case.
