Review on LEADBRAND Scissor Jack 1.5 Tons: Powerful Ratchet Handle for Effortless Lifting by Choice Maynard

As bad as it gets

This product is dangerous as other people have pointed out. Instructions in Chinese right out of the box. It's probably not a huge issue given its simplicity, but there's a lot more to it than that. Even before he loads it, the base is quite unstable and wobbles. I solved this problem by screwing a strong piece of pressure-treated wood to the bottom. I tried it on a Honda HR-V that claims to weigh just under or over 1.5 tons. I had trouble getting it to 15 inches in height, mainly because the ratchet didn't always engage to turn it one way. He started acting when he was about 12 inches. So I ended up with the wrench. And it's grown to 15 inches. HOWEVER I gave the car a little nudge a few times to make sure it was safe and that it wouldn't slide off the block and fall over. Instead, it went down three inches and then back down to 12. So 12 inches seems like the maximum safety limit, but don't quote me on that. I have no idea if something like this wouldn't have happened if he had done the same thing at 12" and didn't want to risk damaging the car or himself. Ironically, this incident didn't break the jack at all. It appeared at 15" with still working well with lighter loads. Much less. I won't be returning it as I didn't actually buy it for car use but for other heavy equipment I needed to support which only cost £600. And after rigorous testing at that weight, it worked fine even with a 15" screen. Seriously, though, this is a dangerous product. No one should ever use it to work on their car.
