Looks great on black or charcoal gray surfaces. They mostly appear glossy black until the light hits them properly, and then turn a bright silvery-white reflective color. I haven't noticed any problems with them peeling or falling off. I have minor circular stickers on my MTB fork's cylindrical downtubes that you would think would peel off when in fact this was a problem with the product. But after a few months no problems. I then did another thorough cleaning and then did a final surface prep with a solution of isopropyl alcohol to remove any remaining oils and dirt before sticking them on. Perhaps those having trouble apply them to a dirty or contaminated surface and expect them to stick. In any case, I highly recommend them if you have a dark item that you want to add reflectors to for safety, but don't want to ruin the look by putting bright reflectors all over the place. If you are concerned that they will stick, clean and remove oils and waxes with isopropyl alcohol and try to apply to flatter surfaces if possible.
