Poor imitation of a bad PTT. Everything is fine outside, but inside the micro ptt doesn't work at all. I'm surprised Revane is letting them sell. Honestly, don't buy that crap.

Connected to my Baofeng UV-5r with no problems, but when I plugged my tactical headset into it, it didn't work. I had to open PTT to re-solder some wires to get it working. Works great now! Bonus, the clip is really strong and holds gear really well.

This adapter does not work as advertised with military standard u94 headsets, I rang the cable and it doesn't even connect the mic line from the headset to the radio jack. I bought two and neither one connects so I'm pretty sure it's a design flaw and not a manufacturing flaw.

Received this product today, cannot recommend. The PTT (Push to Talk) function does not work. He does not work. Otherwise it fits my Baofeng UV-5R as described and seems strong enough so too bad it doesn't work. To clarify, it works fine when you press PTT on the radio, but I bought this so I could have my PTT in a more accessible place and not have to reach for the radio.

I bought this to use my old U10 David Clark headset with my UV-5R. The first problem is that it wasn't plugged in properly. I had sound from the microphone! You MUST grind some plastic near the metal pins for this to work with the Baofeng radio. If the sound isn't loud enough and the PTT function doesn't work, the prongs are NOT deep enough in the radio and the plastic needs to be sanded down further. Once the pins are far enough away, the PTT and audio levels work perfectly. This PTT has everything you need. You need to make sure the connection to the radio and headset is tight as both are very tight. If all your connections are tight, this will work just fine. At least two reviewers have already suggested making sure the connector is FULLY inserted. This is very true. I had to shave off one side of the connector a bit to get it fully into the socket on my Baofeng UV-5R Camo. However, the connection is not always the best the first time. So I work with planes that use higher end U-94s and the one that comes with this product really sucks. Don't get me wrong, it will work, but it seems like it could break at any moment. The PTT button is actually two parts, not one. The cables were badly soldered. But what do you expect for the price and where does it come from. I ordered two of these units, one for my setup and one to keep as a backup in the truck and I have mine decided to open both of them up and take at least an inch of each wire inside, replace the main power wire and ground wire with heavier gauge wire, solder them with acid free solder and use a little heat shrink tubing.
