Does not affect the waveform

This is a voltage stabilizer. that it is basically an autotransformer that increases or decreases the voltage when the line levels are off. This will in no way clean up the iconic wave. I got this for 2 reasons.1. Sometimes I had to step up the voltage in my shop when it was dropping due to the high power draw of a compressor or other high current device. He is doing very well.2. Was to clear the waveform when I was forced to work on the generator. He didn't even do that. Any error in the…

Loud humming in the device.: Power Supply Accessory

I wanted to like this device. It's built strong. I can't say for sure if the line noise has improved, but I have another problem. I got this power supply to set up power in my project music studio, but when I turned it on I quickly noticed a rather loud coil noise. from the unit itself. I didn't notice any hum on my lines, but since I got this in my studio for noise reasons, that's a moot point. I've had it for about a month now, I'm hoping the hum will magically dissipate, but at least it's…

Item not listed:

1) In order to fully utilize this product, the user must cut the plug from the factory extension cord and install another incompatible plug by themselves. with standard AC sockets (15 A). There is a good reason for this, but it must be disclosed in the item description. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. 2) If you use this device with a generator, be careful: the manual says it will void the "Absolute Lifetime Insurance". This must also be stated in the product description. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. Item…

Actual continuous current draw is 12 amps/1500 watts. Intermittently correct 15 amps/1800w. The information they give, while not incorrect, is misleading. See the attached photo of the power cord. That's the reason for 4 stars - so far. After reading the reviews about the hum, their customer service department said if it hums, send it back. There is no internal fan. The device is silent. I read about switching clicks - the sound is very fast and not even a click. Unless it's a recording studio…

Not for Audio Equipment - Network Air Conditioners

I recently purchased an LC1200 to protect my Vidar amplifier and Martin Logan subwoofer. I also bought an APC H15BLK for preamp, DAC, TT, CD player, network streamer and phono stage a few days before. He, the armored personnel carrier, worked exactly as advertised. It's pretty damn quiet, has plenty of quality outlets and AVRs, which was a requirement for the voltage regulators I plan to use in my system. No unwanted noise or hum coming from the speakers since plugging it in. In comparison, the

Do you know what this device is - and it does its job well

This is the second of these devices that I have. The first one in the white case has been working for me for 6 years without any complaints. Before that it was used in gold plating applications to regulate the voltage on the plating elements - too high voltage, you use too much gold, wasting $$ - low voltage - you get a crappy plating. 6 years ago I had a flat screen and now it is used for protection. 1.) No noise 2.) Allow room for convection cooling. There is no fan and it generates heat…

Great fabric softener at a good price

This Tripp Lite LC1200 fabric softener appears to work as advertised. I use mine to protect my TV/entertainment center. During these occasional voltage dips, I would hear clicking noises as internal relays tripped to boost the voltage. A more accurate description of its function is to call it a step voltage regulator rather than a "line conditioner". It doesn't quite turn the waveform into a sine wave. If the input waveform is bad, the output waveform will be just as bad. These line…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

It has several ferrite rings with coils on them to filter certain frequencies, several metal oxide varistors for overvoltage protection (these close the circuit to ground when the overvoltage exceeds a certain value - - replacement parts) and transformer with several Taps for voltage regulation. Basically, when the voltage is too low or too high, the relay switches to a transformer tap that raises or lowers the output voltage relative to the input. Not every input voltage has 120V. Output…

Pros
  • Many fit
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Let me start by saying that I bought a new unit here but more than ten years 2400-W devices and two 1200 W blocks. These units work and regulate tension as most of us should and need. Do they support constant 120V output? No, but in North America our regular PCs, TVs, printers, VCRs, etc. are designed to operate within +/- 5% of 120 volts AC. In other words, if a nominal voltage of 114-126 volts is applied to them, they will work normally. This is exactly what Tripp Lite devices offer when the…
