Ideal for fixing Prelite wood. They work great. They're hard to replace, but better than trying to remove and replace the strings on a pre-lit tree. I wouldn't use them for street lights, just throw them away and buy new filament. But for Prelit yes. It is very important that the lamp type matches on the tag. It's also important to replace lightbulbs as soon as you realize they've burned out. Otherwise the resistance in the circuit will eventually drop and the energy going to the remaining bulbs will cause them to burn very brightly until the entire filament goes out, like 20-30 bulbs at a time. At this point you need to replace any obviously discolored bulbs and then hire a light monitor to light them up so you can see which bulbs are still bad, replace those and you're good to go. Oh, and buy more than you think you need. I just ordered my third pack of 100.
