I bought a new MacBook and I was so upset to find out that none of my external products are compatible because all the USB-C ports. Elegant and beautiful, this battony adapter solves the problem perfectly! It has an HDMI port for my external monitor and I use the USB port to connect a Belkin hub with 4 USB ports so I can use an external keyboard and mouse (wireless but to sync with my laptop). I can also connect a selfie ring light, external speaker/microphone, external DVD drive, iPhone, scanner, and external hard drives if needed. Well worth the $17 price tag to be able to use all these items without having to buy replacements or new USB-C charging cables. I also bought an iWiner USB C to MagSafe 1 and 2 adapter to have a spare charging cable when traveling so I don't have to reach under my desk to unplug the charging cable and reconnect every time I want to take my laptop somewhere to join .
