Buy a sturdy sweater.
I was very happy with this sweater. I ordered 12-18 months and they fit my 15 month old baby perfectly who is 20lbs and 29.5 inches tall. Washed and dried (although the instructions say not to dry). It held its shape without slipping. It looked very nice.
