Works like a keyboard, place the cursor in the field where you want to place the barcode before scanning or exporting data. The inventory setting works great. A minimum of instructions, so you have to do some things yourself. If you are having trouble with the scanner not reading the first or last digit of the barcode, check the settings menu and change the barcode type. I think the scanner defaults to a European barcode, the settings may need to be changed. Go to main menu item #6 Set-, #3 Barcode Set-, #3 Barcode Check (decoding option 3). Make sure there is an asterisk next to the Enable option (press 1 to move the asterisk from Disable to Enable). Works great as a warehouse barcode/inventory scanner.
