Assembly required but I did it in less than 10 minutes. Assembly consists of connecting one "point" of the star to another and using a small plastic clip to hold them together. Directions were easy to understand. For the price, this star looks great on a tree. I was concerned the clips would be distracting, but honestly when it's on it's not that obvious unless you actually look at it.
