They bend right into shape with indentations, and install via cable/zip ties to the bike forks. Nothing to it.These are definitely more intended to stop mud from kicking up, not as good at stopping water as they are too short to cover the area on the tires where the water is thrown off, (front tire that is) at about the 3 - 4 o'clock mark, but fairly decent on the back tire because they install further forward where the water throws off.Worth the money they are asking, and if someone wants to steal them while bike is locked up, no big deal at this price. They will do the job for now, I have a longer front detachable fender for mud puddles and rain on order, but most of the rainy winter weather where I live is almost over. Don't know if I would buy again. And if you're looking for 'cheap' to keep some mud off of you on trails or around town, they will do the job OK.
