I would recommend this sensor to any building inspector using MO290 series humidity sensors. Initially I had some problems with this product. I found that the Cat 5 connector does not have a secure connection due to misalignment of the wires in the connector. However, I called Extech and they sorted things out with me straight away. You just can't match the quality of Extech and their impeccable service department. I check buildings for moisture damage. You must have the right tool for the job. This is the right tool for probing tight spaces and getting into small areas between studs or for probing drywall etc. I have a set of long pins that I bent into a curve to feed through the tiny holes to the invisible sill plate. Drill through the panel or drywall. They are excellent for measuring the moisture content of wall insulation and even carpets and cushions. You can change the 3 inch pins to 8 inch pins for different applications. They have paid for themselves many times over. I love Extech devices and recommend these very useful sensors. Be careful, they are sharp.
