My son has a very high instep and wide feet. After stuffing a lot into shoes that didn't fit him, we read that New Balance was one of the brands that was deep enough to fit his foot. We've had success with a pair we ordered in 6.5W. I tried ordering another style (those black and white ones) totaling 7.5 watts and we couldn't get them to bounce. If you compare them to old sneakers, you'll understand why - they are much narrower when they should be wide. Although we really liked the style, we had to send them back.
