Review on ๐Ÿ”‹ Dyson Absolute Cordless Vacuum Cleaner: Unmatched Cleaning Power and Portability by Adam Huper

Guaranteed no upgrade from V6

When I bought my first Dyson V6 two years ago I decided to clean the whole apartment with my old vacuum and then a new V6. The Dyson can was filled to the max with dirt my old vacuum couldn't pick up and thanks to that I was able to justify spending $600 on a vacuum. I did the same with a V8 and while the difference wasn't that big, the V8 is still better than the V6. First off, this is a great cordless vacuum - the key word is cordless. It can work for 40 minutes on a single charge. This is reduced to 25 minutes with a motorized tool and to 7 minutes in "max modeโ€. The bin can also hold large amounts of debris and features a new mechanism that scratches the sides of the bin as it empties. With one battery charge, I can vacuum the hardwood floors in my one-bedroom apartment in addition to my two 1.5 x 1.7 m carpets. I wish the battery had lasted longer, or better yet, there was an option where the mains plugged vacuum could be used. If you live in a large apartment or house, it's probably better to use a handheld vacuum. The new soft roller cleaner works well on hardwood floors, but on corners I have to go back with the crevice tool to finish the job. I use the direct drive brush head for low pile carpets, but the Mini is better for shaggy carpets (and car mats/upholstery). While I love all of the accessories, I hate that the included mount only has room for two attachments. I would have liked an additional mount, which can be purchased. Compared to my V6 when cleaning wooden floors/tiles, the difference between V6 and V8 is negligible. The difference in cleaning is evident when cleaning carpets, especially carpets with a thick pile. Aside from being the latest model, the V8 doesn't really require an upgrade compared to the V6.
