Review on Lippert Components 733931 Premium SolidStep by Eddie Sanchez

Revainrating 2 out of 5

It could be a 5 star review --- BUT!

Solid Step is good but not enough to survive shipping. I asked Revain to send me a second one and both were damaged. Lippert, I hope you're listening. I counted 24 reviews complaining about the packaging and it's not UPS's fault. I have had many items shipped and the heavy ones have always been packed in foam or heavy cardboard. This step fits freely in the box and its blunt edges easily break through the box. In addition, the 1st had no fasteners. The second had screws in one pocket with a zipper and screws in another pocket that didn't have a zipper, so the nuts and bolts are scattered across the country. I was able to unscrew the damaged parts from one and screw onto the other to make one work. This brings me to the second question. Somehow I thought that with 2 measurements I would get steps that would work. These steps are NOT suitable for every RV. I have a flat sill that is flush with the floor. The steps are made for an increased threshold. If someone has a shallow threshold, DO NOT ORDER THESE STEPS. You will not fit. Unfortunately I didn't know this so I cut out the vertical and horizontal edges on the door frame thinking it would work. I spent a week clamping the step in various ways and using two 10k ratchet ties I removed the kinks and made them fit. I had to raise both the main and screen doors. It was a nightmare.
