These speakers were a perfect replacement for my Sony XS-MP1621 6.5 inch speakers which failed after only 2.5 years on a boat kept closed when not in use. I will never buy Sony speakers again. The Pioneer speakers fit easily into the 5" hole cutout and the smaller of the two hole patterns matches the holes on my Sony speakers perfectly. Easy exchange. Stenciled front if the box is 5" tall, don't know why the specs say the cutout is 5 1/8". Any size will work. I hope for more than 2.5 years. I don't like the style of the grilles but they sound good and aren't Sony.
