Best thing I've tried for washable technical fabric

I have some technical fabric shirts that I wear when kayaking here in South Florida. They got to the point where they started smelling really bad as soon as I started sweating (which happens instantly with this customer). Regular detergent didn't help - the shirts still smelled straight out of the washing machine. I read somewhere that detergent residue can make the problem worse so I switched to Free and Clear detergent - the shirts still smelled. I then tried Sport Suds, which worked noticeably better than the cleanser and was a step in the right direction. Just recently received a bottle of this Sweat X for review. While it didn't completely solve the underarm odor problem on shirts, it was better than any other cleaner I've tried, which is why I'm giving Sweat X five stars. By the way, I recently found a two-step solution that has proven to be very effective for smelly technical fabrics. Before washing, I spray the armpits of shirts with an antibacterial Micro-Ban spray. Simply spray under each arm and turn shirt inside out. I then leave the shirt on for a while and then wash it in Sweat X. This two-step approach saved four technical kayaking and fishing shirts my wife was in danger of burning. These shirts are expensive, so buying an extra season in them will save you a lot of money.
