Review on Wi-Fi router TP-LINK TL-MR6400, black by En Xiao ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I like it, thanks for the quality product.

I purchased version 2 for organizing Wi-Fi in a suburban area. The source of the Internet is SIM cards from Amazon and Tele2. I replaced the standard antennas with more long-range ones from the same manufacturer. With the Amazon card, everything started with a half-kick. There is a problem with the Tele2 card: the router works with it only in GSM mode. He twisted, turned, dabbled in settings, but did not understand what the problem was. In Tele2, they found it difficult to tell. And on a smartphone, meanwhile, both SIM cards work wonderfully in 4G! There is a suspicion of a spurious GSM signal, which is perceived by the router, which considers it a priority (the 3G / 4G settings inside the device had no effect). While the theory is under investigation. As for Wi-Fi, I can report the following. Close to the router, the signal is excellent, but even a wooden wall cuts down the signal strength quite decently, although this does not particularly affect the comfortable work on the Internet. I had to use repeaters. Alas, it cost extra. Having previously "acquainted" the repeaters with the router via WPS, they quickly picked up the signal. Wifaem covered not only open areas of its territory, but also neighboring, as well as points significantly removed from the router (for example, a room in a house behind stone, wooden and iron-clad walls), a distance of 40-50 m in a straight line. Forget about advertising tricks about the fact that Wi-Fi at a frequency of 2.4 GHz beats as much as 300 m! There are no ideal laboratory conditions in everyday life. In real life, you have to fight for every meter overcome by the signal. In short, this router is designed for one or two rooms. What goes beyond, requires additional shamanism, that is, financial injections from above. The TL-MR6400 fulfills its main task with dignity. By the way, on the Internet, people complain that this model is very sensitive to voltage drops, and even a single abnormal power outage can kill the 4G module, without which the price of this box is zero. Use in conjunction with the UPS - away from sin.

Pros
  • The ability to easily and quickly share mobile Internet via Wi-Fi, replaceable antennas, the router can be attached to the wall, light weight.
Cons
  • Overpriced, fingerprints are visible on the glossy body, there are too many hardware versions of the device on the market.

The device is probably the best out of nothing. There are simply no other devices like this on the market. Why is not clear.
