It really does keep the rug in place! It will stick to whichever flooring you try. Just know that it’s a one and done type of product. Once you pull up the rug to clean it, you can’t re-stick it with any assurances it will stay in place the second time.But it did keep my runner EXACTLY where I stuck it on the carpet. I had a carpet issue that needed to be covered and so used this tape with a runner. Worked great.When you want to remove it I had no issue pulling it up slowly from the carpet. But couldn’t get all of the tape off the runner. It really was holding on and doing its job. I even. Threw the runner in the washing machine with some of the tape still applied.
