The locking mechanism on this pin is unreliable - it's difficult to engage as turning the key turns the pin itself. I kept wiggling it to make sure it was really locked and wondering if I should get another needle. but laziness prevailed. On my seventh use, I set it up in the dark, it unlocked and fell out on a 50 mph descent. My V-Trailer landed on the back of my van and ripped off a piece of the bumper. Thank goodness the trailer was empty and it was 6am so the street was empty. I just offloaded 3,000 pounds of vending gear so the damage could have been a lot worse. The trailer was also chained to my van. I used a crowbar to return to civilization where I found the correct pin.
