difficult to block, sent back.

I really wanted a locking pin. It was so difficult to lock and unlock. Returned. Trying to hold both ends to keep the locking cap from rotating, holding and screwing, and working in tight spaces behind the hitch just didn't work for me. It seems well done, but I didn't want all this trouble. It's heavy and has a lid covering the locking mechanism - to protect it from the weather I guess. The price is good for those who know how to hold and unlock the lock.

Well made but will not fit CLASS IV hitches.

Pin works great with a 2" Class III hitch but not long enough for a heavy Class IV hitch. The good news is Note that the stainless steel used was very well machined on a lathe so it took 5 minutes to turn one end to give enough clearance. I've used two of these on a 1500 mile trip and they've held up really well. I recommend lubricating the end of the lock to ensure it doesn't corrode during use and checking it about monthly. Stainless steel isn't completely immune to rust, especially when it…

This is a clutch pin that locks and has a cover.

Purchased to deter thieves from escaping with my shackle hitch. Installed in exactly 22 seconds on my 2018 F-150 receiver. I know I'm getting more experienced. Ride like Mad Max through rain, snow, mud, dust and dirt, no problem. The cover covering the lock has remained in place and protects the locking mechanism from dirt. I'm deducting a star for light rust that started to appear after about a month of ownership. If it gets bad enough, just use Plasti Dip, baby. Don't hesitate to buy again.

you have to cut! The key was in and out from the start.

Do I have to cut it off! The key went in and out roughly from the start, I thought it would come loose. No, I wanted to shoot, but the key only goes part way and gets stuck and pulls it out. I've tried tapping the stuck toggle switches lightly but to no avail. I tried lubricating the key with a light tap, it didn't help. We need to find a way to stop him from spinning and get Sawzall to him. It sucks, it's new and it hasn't rained in a couple of weeks. It was my first time at the shoot…

Will rust eventually but good for the price.

Well, after almost exactly 4 years of use, I'm announcing that it's gone. For the last year I've had to use lock lube, Wd40 (not really a lube) and PB Blaster to get this thing to work (mostly had trouble taking it off). To be honest I have it all year round and I live in Minnesota so there is a lot of snow, salt, shit etc. For the price I think it's a good buy. Just know that over time it will rust and you will swear a lot and probably kick over time (solution to everything). I found that…

Fallen on the highway; My own trailer hitched me from behind

The locking mechanism on this pin is unreliable - it's difficult to engage as turning the key turns the pin itself. I kept wiggling it to make sure it was really locked and wondering if I should get another needle. but laziness prevailed. On my seventh use, I set it up in the dark, it unlocked and fell out on a 50 mph descent. My V-Trailer landed on the back of my van and ripped off a piece of the bumper. Thank goodness the trailer was empty and it was 6am so the street was empty. I just…

Perfect design, good for lugging groceries and winches

I've had several types of these pin locks. This one is my favourite. Why do I like him the most? Almost every time I've had a different lock design, I've had trouble locking it back. You push with one hand while holding the lock with the other, trying to turn the key properly while holding the lock. You need another hand. It's easy and hassle-free. You can completely remove the key after unlocking. You can even add a black protective rubber band over the key insertion point. Put the key in your

scattered! suitable for

Attention! The lock came loose from this pin and I didn't notice until it was almost ready to fall out, only 3/4 inch left in the receiver! Thank goodness I saw this before I went on a trip with my trailer. I had trouble moving the hitch over the ball and it made no sense. Everything was aligned perfectly. I tried and even tried to move the truck again until I got frustrated and angry. I told why it was happening and prayed for help. I felt I had to be patient and relaxed. Then I saw that the…
