Pin works great with a 2" Class III hitch but not long enough for a heavy Class IV hitch. The good news is Note that the stainless steel used was very well machined on a lathe so it took 5 minutes to turn one end to give enough clearance. I've used two of these on a 1500 mile trip and they've held up really well. I recommend lubricating the end of the lock to ensure it doesn't corrode during use and checking it about monthly. Stainless steel isn't completely immune to rust, especially when it comes to road salt.
