Review on HOT TOOLS Professional Styling Curling by Heidi Greenwood

I thought all curling irons are the same but this one is definitely the best. For my 4c ethnic style hair, this flat iron glides through my hair and actually helps my hair to keep its curls. This barrel size is perfect for my shoulder length hair and is light and comfortable in the hand. In short, this is a winner. BARREL: This is NOT a round barrel, but a rounded rectangular shape. Round on the outside, flat on the inside. I actually wanted a round barrel and when I got it I felt cheated. But once I used it, the rounded rectangular design helped my hair stay in place better without pulling out. This will NOT make the curl look square, it will still look like a rounded curl. I like this design better because it helps the hair stay parted and gives it even warmth (as opposed to putting the hair over a round shaft to keep it in place). There is no running clip, so use the included heat protection glove to help with curling. TEMPERATURE: This thing heats up in a matter of seconds, which happens very quickly. This is a plus for those who are "in a hurry all the time" (like me). This makes your hair easy to style as you don't have to wait for it to heat up and it stays hot all the time (even with heat protectant). I only have to leave it on my hair for a few seconds (less than a minute) for the curls to form and stay. It has different heating levels on the rotary knob (up to 455 degrees). CONSISTENCY OF THE LOCK: Each curl turned out to be almost the same. The heat of the iron stays hot, and even then, if you curl them the same way every time, the curls will stay the same. You want the "upside down" position of the pen so that the pen is pointing towards the sky. This is very important because doing it the "normal" way will turn your curls upside down (which means you have to do a twist to turn the curl, which looks weird). This is a clipless curling iron, so the reversed position is its normal position. ON/OFF SWITCH: The power switch is separated from the heating control by a simple on/off switch. GLOVE: This glove is very comfortable. stretchy and fits my long fingers. These are high quality gloves (as opposed to cheap winter gloves) that you will actually use. CORD: This is a really nice long length, 9 feet! I can stick it in the wall and still have the length to be able to move. I would recommend this straightener, it's now my new favorite curling iron for my natural hair (and wigs too). I will literally be giving away my other curling irons. It was ok, some were the same or more expensive but still had heat issues which this iron doesn't have. This curling iron is made to last. This is the best curling iron I have ever had and I will only have one left. I would try it, hope it helps :)
