I, like many other reviewers, have a whole shelf of books about Kaffa Fasset, but for some reason this one resonated me. Maybe it's the time of year or because the place has been so well used to display quilts. Maybe it's because I have so many fabrics from the fabric lines described! But I've read it several times in the two weeks I've had it, and I actually pick up the pieces of one of the quilts shown! Many reviewers complain that the templates are very heavily template-based, which is true, and it doesn't keep up with many of us cutting out and cleaning up the details. But I've found that if you take the time to break down the patterns, if you have some quilting skills, you can make the patterns work for you with just a little focus. Many patterns aren't for beginner quilters, but this book lists a few that are good for beginner quilters, so along with some eye candy, there are some really doable designs. And sometimes I just need a dose of beauty to get me creative, and this book helps with that! It was a indulgent purchase and I wasn't sure I really needed another coffee book, but I'm enjoying - and using!
