For half the price you get a better iron with a more thoughtful design (for the real user). Example: no automatic shutdown! WHICH TYPE?! This is an important safety feature - and pretty standard by now - even on much cheaper models! So standard that I didn't think to check the details of the product when I bought it. (I was asked to write this review after coming back from work 9 hours late and finding it incredibly hot. Can't wait to see my poor burned cat and our next electric bill.) The cord is ridiculously long, so how much it weighs. and drag to make it uncomfortable when trying to manipulate the flat iron around your hair. All I had to do was tie up the extra cord and leave the heavy chunk in the sink while I curled or it would fall to the floor taking the iron and everything else on the counter with it. The buttons are also not very easy to use. I wish I had bought the tried and true Conair model I had before, but I think I was seduced by someone's glowing review of this model. Do not be fooled.
