I needed something to replace my everyday white vinyl coated hangers which were quickly deteriorating with age and UV exposure - white vinyl coating turns to dust quickly when exposed to strong sunlight (i.e. hanging outdoors during the day). I wanted something with a coating as it can be used to hang wet laundry to prevent the metal parts from rusting. I had an old set of really good vinyl hangers that were thicker than the cheap stuff they sell now, but they were severely distorted by the "13 gauge wire" hangers - those things are nowhere near 13 -gauge So it was a repeat purchase. Tell us how durable these things are, but first impressions are good. The silicone coating seems to last a long time. Hangers are heavy, so be careful if you're used to cheap wire hangers. They're slightly wider than your standard 16-inch versions, so don't use them for children's clothing. I only deal with all adult clothing so this is not a problem for me. Yes, the silicone coating is pretty sticky when new, but quickly breaks down for a good amount if the stick is holding clothes in place; When wet, clothing can be easily stripped off and removed.
