Blue Ray DVD Player

Great price for a player but the controls to the box are very slow to respond and you have to be in a straight line in front of the signal from the remote to the box or there's no way you can buy a better one in the future. ;)

I had two of these. None of them worked properly.

I bought one and just as I was about to throw it against the wall, my brother-in-law told me that a friend of his had a Blu-Ray player that he was getting rid of . Exactly the same model! If I had an enemy, I would buy him one like this! They were both so excited! Both had a tray that wouldn't open after a few months. You have to take it out and paste it. Both sometimes scratched DVDs. Both had glitches, sometimes not playing, sometimes flickering, or loading DVD menus very slowly. The remoteโ€ฆ

No frills. But it works for me

I got this in 2009 as a Christmas present. They bought it at Wal-Mart for about $78. I'm glad they gave it to me as I haven't had any issues with mine. I connected it to a 46" Toshiba 1080p LCD TV with a cheap HDMI cable and the picture is amazing. My player even plays DVD-R discs that I burned on a Panasonic DVD recorder, but both my Panasonic DVD recorders and my laptop have playback problems (freezes)! But they play perfectly on this Blu-ray player. It also played Avatar (although theโ€ฆ

NOT MATTER. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

It was Wal-Mart's Black Friday sale where they sold out pretty quickly. I took one a few days ago and plugged it in at home. Pros: The picture is fantastic. I had a Sony upconverter that worked great, but nothing beats Blu-ray. The sound is crisp and clear. You can also access the menu while watching a movie and turn certain special features on or off. Bad: It does not connect to the Internet. (You can update the firmware by burning a CD from the manufacturer's website and loading it into theโ€ฆ

Good entry-level Blu-ray player

We got it as a Christmas present and the kids were very happy to launch it. Finally they could watch the Blu-ray movie they got last Christmas! Pros: Up and running in less than 5 minutes as there really aren't many ways to go wrong (if you can read the instructions and connect the cables!). As for permissions etc we just plugged it in. Face the "old fashioned" CRT TV - flat screen might come next Christmas! Once everything is set up (I'm a man after all - read the guide after setting it up!)โ€ฆ

Good Blu-ray player with no frills

I bought this on Black Friday 2009 for $78. I connected it to a Panasonic 42-inch 720P Plasma HDTV model #TH-42PX60U using an HDMI cable that I bought from Amazon for less than $5. The picture quality of this Blu-ray player is amazing, just like my Samsung. BDP-1500 connected to my HDTV 1080. No difference in quality. Boot times are a bit slower than my Samsung but only a few seconds longer so not a problem for me. More expensive and without a front-facing display of the device, but if all youโ€ฆ

GREAT VALUE FOR PRICE

I've been using this player for about a month (connected to a 1080p LCD TV via HDMI with audio playback through a 7.1 audiophile quality system) and so far it has worked flawlessly, both mechanically and electrically on discs including Blu-ray, standard DVDs, CDs and even homemade DVD-Rs. Blu-ray discs take a little longer to load than standard DVDs, but no longer than other modern Blu-ray players, which are significantly more expensive. The lack of the usual LED display on the front panel isโ€ฆ

Not bad as a second player or sleeper

I can't say I like it (4 stars) or I like it (5 stars), but the Blu-ray player made in China met my expectations , which explains the solid 3 stars, which means "It's ok". A NOTICE. I bought my "refurbished" at half price. As a player, this is a cheap, basic, no-frills device that does the job I've come to expect from it and nothing more - plays Blu-ray, DVD and audio. drives in the bedroom. Can't expect anything more than basic playback from it, but so far it plays everything flawlessly. Theโ€ฆ
