Ideal for light caving!

I bought 2 of these and mounted them on cheap fenders for a trip to Monkey Cave on Mount St Helens. They were still going strong after 2.5 hours on the brightest setting. They are a bit heavier than other headlamps in this price range, but are significantly brighter. You can see the result of the two in Fig. Only two of our lamps (at maximum brightness), in complete darkness and without a camera flash. We had by far the brightest lighting in the cave. Other thoughts. The second brightest setting is sufficient for most navigation. I used it briefly, but since battery life wasn't an issue on this hike, I went back to the brightest setting. The ring setting comes in handy when you need to look at something up close and don't want reflected light on your face. The blinking beacon is disorienting and I'm not sure what it's for other than an alarm or a rave. The red taillight (also used for charging) acts as a taillight for people behind you. The supplied clips facilitate attachment to the helmet.
