media could not be loaded. As a practicing hygienist, I was naturally drawn to the triple bristle toothbrush because it automatically cleans the gumline. It's not that other brushes don't do the job - I've just noticed that people who use this 3-way brush regularly return for follow-up with huge improvements in gum health. I originally tried the main unit with rechargeable batteries, but this one is more affordable for those on a budget and it does the job well too. The only downside is that you have to replace the batteries when you feel the vibration strength dropping as the batteries are not rechargeable. It's definitely a whole different way of cleaning. So my advice to anyone trying it for the first time is to approach it with an open mind: Expect some tickling and sensitivity for the first few days. You may also occasionally experience a "pinging" sound as the resin touches your tooth. It will disappear once you learn how to use it. Since it cleans more thoroughly and penetrates into the gum line, it is not uncommon for bleeding and sensitization to occur. This is temporary and usually goes away in a few days. Bleeding is a sign of inflammation. So if you keep brushing, you will find that the bleeding will stop and your gums will improve significantly. Unlike the original rechargeable device, this device comes with batteries that need to be inserted into the handle. This part can be a little tricky. It closes very tightly, water does not penetrate the handle and is difficult to open. When I called support they recommended using a coin (like a quarter) to open and close the bottom. I've had a few patients ask me about this, so I'm including a short video of how to assemble this brush from start to finish. You don't have to move the handle much. Simply press it against your teeth until it reaches your gums and let the sonic vibration work its magic. Gentle up and down movements to clean your gums are sufficient. This toothbrush will help you brush your teeth better and faster. It covers all three sides of your teeth and perfectly cleans the gum line. Because gum disease often starts at the gum line, it can make a huge difference to oral health. I highly recommend trying this brush if you're struggling with dental disease - at this price point, it's really worth it. Inna S. RDH
