Review on AT&T TL86009 Cordless Handset, Black/Silver | For Use with AT&T TL86109 Expandable Phone System by Garry Ortiz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Beware of "as new " - return code required!

Revain was out of stock and I wanted them to be the supplier and I wanted fast so I ordered a used like new unit and saved $6. Well, not quite like new. If the phone was previously paired to a different base (which is likely the case if it was returned from another customer), you'll need to request a reset code from AT&T. This is definitely not covered in the troubleshooting guide and the phone is unable to pair with the new base or even hold charge as it keeps trying to find the old base. you need to charge it as best as you can until the message "Out of range OR no power to base" appears. Then enter: *331734# by adding the last character after #, top left - button. You will then see the default home screen and from there you can simply pair your phone using the normal procedure. To reiterate, if the phone has already been paired to one base station it will not work at all with another unless this procedure is followed. It might have been more intuitive and even easier to just send it back to Revain as a defective unit. Since it didn't charge or connect, I'm glad I continued to use the eventually helpful AT&T helpline. That issue aside, it seems like a great phone system so far. I haven't tried Bluetooth yet, but I'm looking forward to it. I already like it better than my previous AT&T TL76108 2-line phone system, which ran into a few issues. I'm rating the phone 5 stars because it's not AT&T's fault I had to call them!

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
