There are two tools you should use to scoop ice cream: a Zeroll if you have one, and a heavy metal spoon if you don't have one. Everything else is as inferior to Zeroll as a spoon, so why bother? My wife was a little shocked at the price, but Zeroll shovels are built to last. They work like magic. The liquid inside transfers heat from your hand to the ice cream, melting it where it touches the ball, making it easy to cut even the toughest piece of ice cream or frozen yogurt into attractive balls. It doesn't need (and shouldn't) be heated or soaked. It is fairly easy to clean which is very important as it is NOT dishwasher safe. I love good tools that do their job well. It's one.
