Does what it should. This changes the feel of the keys. The edges of each key are slightly raised, and if you're a touch typist like me, it'll take some time to get used to how the ability to slide your finger across one key changes to the next switch. In this case, the keys seem to "grab" your finger. I don't know how else to describe it. I'm typing at 105 wpm and I'd say I'm slowed down to around 80 at the moment. I expect it to be temporary - once I get used to it I'll automatically compensate. But I think that will take a few more weeks. I REALLY like the color (mine is ombré grey), the color is saturated, the letters etc on the keys look just as good as the original keyboard. I expect all of this will change the feel of the keyboard to some extent and I really needed to protect my keyboard and keep it clean. The Mac keyboard in our house used to get ruined by cleaning it with a liquid cleaner (like Windex), and replacing that keyboard costs about $70 (!?), so it's a very smart investment. And when I need to quickly print to a deadline, I can easily remove this cover. I haven't cleaned or changed the lid yet, so I can't comment on that. I've been wearing it for about a week and it still fits well, even lying flat on the gap; and this machine is used a lot. When I clean it I remember to rinse it with cold water at room temperature so temperature changes don't affect the shape of the material. Should I have any issues with this keyboard cover in the future I will update this review.
