Previously had a 1/2 mile block from this company. I don't need this range and had the opportunity to purchase this one. So my goodness - the size difference is amazing (see photo) but still it delivers all the bells and whistles in a cleaner package. The receiver unit is clean and compact, and the signal light is bigger and brighter, and there are no power cords (built-in). The transmitter has a solar panel built into the case for cleaner installation and nicer looks. The price difference is significant - save $40 if you don't need the extra 1/4 mile. The end result is a great product and a wide customer reach.
