Review on Razer Stealth Touchscreen Ultrabook Laptop by Dave Goodman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I've been searching the market for a compact laptop that I can use for both school and work. After months of research, I was torn between the MacBook Pro and the Rader Blade Stealth as I had never seen the Stealth live. I finally pulled the trigger and haven't looked back yet. The Stealth weighs around 3 pounds, but what was even more surprising was how proportional the weight was when the laptop was closed, which was a fantastic bonus. The black finish is nice compared to a typical aluminum-bodied laptop, and the keyboard is super quiet, which is perfect for a student like me. Nobody wants to be the guy who sounds like he has a mechanical keyboard while the teacher is giving a lecture. Having switched from the Surface Book to the Stealth, I can say that the display is amazing compared to the very sharp colors and quick response of the touchscreen. I didn't have to click the same spot on the screen for something to work properly. I am very impressed with the packaging of the laptop itself. It came in a sturdy box with more than enough foam to keep it safe. The box is what you see in the photos and I honestly didn't expect to get such a premium feel from a gaming company. It's currently connected to an external monitor, the original Razer Black Widow Chroma, the Razer Naga (2012), a 4-port USB 3.0 hub, and a charger, all of which are directly connected. Reinstalling Razer Synapse was perfect as my keyboard didn't need any drivers or updates, I just plugged it in and had full control over it in Synapse. My two roommates, the one with the highest Thinkpad ($2600-2016) and the Surface Book Pro (latest model), are seriously considering replacing their current hardware with the same model as mine. I think, and while this might be a small bonus, I'm very happy with how easy it was to sign up for the guarantee. I didn't have to call anyone, register online, or deal with product codes. You just open Synapse and it's one of the tabs at the bottom of the screen where you can make changes to Stealth. I found it by accident and it took me less than 15 seconds to register and I'm done. The app tracks warranty information, which is handy. Overall I am happy with my purchase. I dared and tried something new and ended up with a premium feel, consistent performance and portability. Would buy again. And the charger is small enough that I can coil up a string and still slip it in the back pocket of my half-skinny jeans and it's barely visible. It would be easy to carry around in a sweatshirt pocket and wouldn't slip off, unlike some of the bulkier chargers I've seen. Thanks very much!
