These relay specs are confusing. "The high coil capacity of 40A makes it easier to handle high current applications." What the hell does that mean? The coil has nothing to do with "strong currents". "40A 14 VDC" is written on the top of the relay (see picture). I've never seen a relay contact rated for 14V DC. Either Type-0 or really crappy contacts. I'll let you know if you fail. The measured current consumption for the relay coil is 128 mA at 12 V. The resistance is 84 ohms. It's been fairly consistent over several seasons.
