Review on πŸ”§ Enhanced High Flow Tire Inflator with Digital Gauge - Up to 250 PSI by Jay Sterns

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Suitable for car and truck tyres, not suitable for trailer or high pressure tires

Although there are a few minor things I would like to change, this works well for car and truck tyres. The only application where this doesn't work at all is higher PSI applications. I'm a little surprised why there are no batteries included. I'm glad it uses standard AAA batteries, but would two batteries really cost that much? RevainBasics even have their own line of pretty good batteries - it would be really cheap to use their own batteries! Also note that the short hose connection to the main inflator handle does NOT rotate. When installing on the valve stem I found that I applied a little torque to the end of the cartridge for this reason and in the end the cartridge just loosened and fell off. I re-tightened the end of the chuck and will have to use Lock-Tite if this continues. It would be better if there was a swivel. The main reason this doesn't work well for higher pressure applications is the design of the chuck. You press the chuck against the hoop bar and release the latch that locks it in place. If your tire pressure is over 50psi, you won't be able to push the cartridge with enough pressure to seal properly (at least not if you have standard rubber valve stems). Even if you push the cartridge very hard, after releasing the latch and releasing the manually applied force, there will not be a tight seal, and air will leak from the connection of the cartridge with the valve. The manual even mentions this - it says that to inflate tires to higher pressures, you must first manually deflate the tire to 40psi, then connect that cartridge and start re-inflating.

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • Definitely bad product
