Not a bad computer. Don't expect it to do heavy work, but if you're just browsing the web, launching Office, and video conferencing, you should be fine. It doesn't take up much storage space when you first set it up, but you can't store a lot of photos and videos here. It only comes with 4GB of RAM, which I personally think is the bare minimum to run Windows. . You can upgrade it to a maximum of 16GB. The one I have has a 4GB SODIMM. You should be able to order another 4GB for around $40. The problem is that the RAM is not easily accessible and accessing the RAM requires disassembling and removing the screen. This is not a project I would recommend for those unfamiliar with working with computers. I'm in IT and this looks like a pain to ME. I'll probably update it just like that, but it's definitely not a priority given how invasive it is. HP would do much better if they added a door to replace or upgrade the RAM. The SSD is a pretty fast NVME drive, so I have no complaints. The monitor looks nice, there are no dead/stuck pixels. The speakers are tiny and tinny, and without the ability to boost bass, you'll need a set of external speakers if you want decent music. It comes with many programs installed, but it's easy to uninstall. Lots of "advertisements" on setup, but some of it is just pre-installed Windows 10 Home crap. The installation is very easy. This is the perfect computer for a beginner, you literally follow the verbal instructions to set it up. Setting up Windows with Cortana is very easy. Unless you're a beginner, the default setting (obviously) requires some tweaking. A lot of updates were required after the initial setup, including a BIOS update. Everything went smoothly and the BIOS update didn't break the computer. In general? If you need a computer for school or the office and only need the bare essentials, then this computer is a perfect fit. It's worth what they charge for $599. When you're ready to get the job done, upgrade your RAM to 8GB or 16GB.
