I bought one about 2 1/2 years ago and it was looking a bit tatty so just bought a replacement. In my opinion, this length is excellent for a $14 object that lives in a humid environment. I could probably spend some time cleaning it, but for $6 a year I don't spend time cleaning the toilet brush. I always tilted the wand to allow the holder to breathe a bit, and there was no pooling of feces unless I was expecting company. The point where the brush screws into the handle tends to come loose. So if it's new, unscrew it, put some epoxy on the screw and put it back together. Great price, looks good
