We bought two garlands of lights. You can't tie the cords together, you have to tie them one by one, so there's a huge mess of cords at the base of the tree that needs to be camouflaged. Two strands are enough to tie a 7ft tree, but we can't sync them to a remote despite following the instructions. Each string goes through the cycle at two different speeds. Setting 8 is the only one that gives you a pastel look as both warm white and color settings work at the same time. One line repeats in about a minute and the other every 30 seconds. If you plan to use them for a Christmas tree I would recommend shuffling the strings so you don't have a lot of visible separation from one string to the next. Indeed very annoying!
