Artists Use Caution

While this scanner is GREAT at delivering quality line-art scans, it's definitely lacking when it comes to colored images. I've attached photos of a quick drawing I did for the purpose of showing what I mean. I like the brightness and clarity the scanner brings, but I have that it decreases the saturation and contrast of the image. The actual machine itself works nicely, it's quick, it has many different settings for documents, photographs, line-art and colored illustrations, etc. It does make a horrendous noise while it's scanning, but other reviews have pointed out the same thing and from what I can tell, it's no issue. The USB connection also makes this scanner portable and easy to use and install. Now, yes, I realize this scanner was not made explicitly for art, but I was expecting a little better, since photographs have the same amount of color. I have not scanned a photo myself yet, but the quality of my art scans makes a little unsure of how it will come out when I do.Pros:Speed of scanningEase of usePriceClarity of scanned imagesUSB connectionCompatible with Windows 10Cons:NoiseColor-loss and contrast-loss of imagesNo way to turn it off without disconnecting itOverall, it's a nice little scanner, especially for the price, with some scanner going for upwards of two hundred dollars. If you're looking to get into art professionally, I would spend a little more to get something of a higher caliber, but if you're just planning on using this for a hobby, or to scan documents, etc, this scanner should suit you fine.
