Review on 🔌 5-Port Edgerouter Router with Power over Ethernet (PoE) by Reggie Kern

Comes with 2012 firmware. If you try to follow the instructions to update to the latest firmware, it doesn't work. After hours of troubleshooting and trawling through community threads (check out all the issues in the Ubiquiti community for yourself). I have found that I need to install a 2016 firmware version for it to accept the new firmware. After the firmware issue was resolved I followed a detailed user guide to run the wizards to enable DHCP which kept crashing or becoming unavailable. In this state, the only way to contact him again for troubleshooting was a hard reset (which also didn't work 50% of the time). I was thrilled to use this product, but wouldn't recommend it to anyone who doesn't have a degree in networking engineering and plenty of time to get it working. I have a feeling that UNMS will allow this to happen. o Work faster, but after 6 hours of trying I'll look at other options, maybe something else from Ubiquiti that wasn't made in 2012.
