I don't know how to potty a guinea pig but I have found that my piglets mostly use a corner for pooping and urinating. I bought this and put in the angle they used most of the time, can't say it's 100% effective. I still have scattered granules in the cage but they use that to urinate and that has a lot of granules too. I empty it every other day, wash and dry it before putting it back.
