There is no easy way to keep the mic arm from rotating

It's hard to explain, but the actual arm that holds the mic can rotate in the sleeve that holds it. This means that if you place the mic at its end, like the Blue Yeti, which is lightweight, the inability to tighten your arm (like you might with a tripod leg) allows the mic to swing left or right walk. This is especially problematic when adding a shock absorber, as the weight of the shock absorber and its mount can cause the long arm shaft to rotate in the bushing. I haven't found an easy way to fix this, but I've used a rather clumsy workaround using cable clamps to stabilize the arm. There seems to be a way to stop this lever from rotating in the socket, but I couldn't find one.
