But does not work in salt water!

I bought these because I had a stab from an electric drill that went through the base of the nail bed. After following the doctor's instructions for 6 weeks and healing, my nail started to separate from the nail bed on its own. We were just about to go on a 2 week beach vacation and I needed something that would completely seal my finger/nail so I wouldn't risk getting stuck or getting infected on the side that goes up. I carefully followed the instructions and applied the bandage. I've found that it seals better if you first warm the patch by folding or rubbing your hands together with the warming hands before applying. Walked down to the beach, and less than 3 hours later he started to detach and get up. I don't think they are suitable for salt water. The only time they really worked was when we took a day off without swimming in the sea. They are also difficult to remove. You have to be patient and move slowly and pull one end straight out of where it sits instead of peeling off like a regular band-aid. They didn't really fit my purpose of purchase, but they might be great for other minor and minor injuries not related to being in or near salt water.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • I won't say anything
