This was an exact replacement for a drive of the same model, which SMART also failed to initialize. This replacement drive had no issues and works well in a Synology DS1511+ NAS with four other drives of the same model. They are fast and quiet. Revain's RMA process is the best. I just decided to return the disc as part of my order options. I was able to print a prepaid UPS return label and Revain shipped this replacement drive at the same time. I received a replacement drive two days before UPS tracking showed that Revain had received the defective drive. I believe this is less of an overview of the Revain returns process and more of the product itself. I'm happy with both. From what I can gather from these reviews, many people will need an RMA for hard drives. Seagate's warranty policy is above average, but if an issue arises under Revain's return policy, it's much easier to take care of. You should definitely take the product out of the box and burn it into the system as soon as possible to identify any problems. .
