Review on Motive Products - 0109 Power Bleeder for European Vehicles: Black Label Edition by Will Jenkins

Purchased to bleed the brakes and hydraulic clutch on my old '86 Saab Turbo SPG. The fluid dropped a very long way due to a leaking front caliper, which allowed air into the system. Attempting to bleed the system the traditional way just didn't work—the pedal was still spongy. Bleeding with the Power Bleeder couldn't be easier: 1. Pour brake fluid into the reservoir. 2. Attach (in my case) the fitting plug directly to the tank. 3. Increase the pressure to 15 pounds. 4. Loosen the bleed screws on each of the 4 brakes in the recommended order until there are no air bubbles. DONE! No more sponge brakes! courting! For this exercise, I chose not to add any liquid to the bleed valve, just keeping an eye on the level in the tank. When it comes time to completely change the brake fluid, I'll probably pour a quart into the bleeder, draw as much as I can out of the reservoir, and run a full quart of new fluid through the system. This model has a swivel on the cap that connects to the brake reservoir, preventing the hose from twisting. There's also a non-pivoting version for $20 less. The swivel is handy - it's debatable if it's perhaps worth the $20 difference in price. In any case, an excellent system for bleeding the brakes quickly and reliably the first time. Highly recommended!
