Simply put the only recording made on a brand new Sony tape recorder ended up playing on my truck's radio/cassette. The howling was so loud it hurt my ears. I've made several recordings on cassettes I bought from Wal-Mart and they work as expected and they were also made on the same recorder. others in my pack suffer from the same issue and I only bought them for use in the truck player. So unless I have another use for them, I might try a different record in the future. If the next one does the same, I give the rest away or throw them in the trash. As far as I know I could get a bad or bad batch. That happened to me.
