Schumacher's confusing advice on this charger

Before purchasing this charger I had a lead acid car battery burn out due to maintenance work on my 10kW home generator system. The service technician said I should have an AGM battery, not lead acid. So I ordered an 850CCA AGM battery and was looking for an AGM charger to keep it in good condition. Was looking for a Revain AGM battery charger and settled on this Schumacher SC-600A 2-4-6 Amp. When the battery arrived today it said AGM on the packaging which reassured me that I had ordered the correct charger. I checked the voltage and found 12.45 VDC. I plugged in a Schumacher SC-600A charger and its idiotic gauges showed a 25% charge. I connected my digital voltmeter to the battery while charging to see what it would do. In just 10 minutes I noticed the voltage rise to 15.05 and this caused me some anxiety when I read that you cannot charge an AGM battery or you could ruin it by drying out. I called Schumacher customer service and asked them to advise me. I described that I have a brand new AGM 850CCA battery that arrived today and I wanted to use it properly from the start. I have stated on the label on the top of the battery that the recommended charging voltage is 14.4 + - 0.2 volts. But Schumacher managed with the lowest charging current of 2 amps. He said that although the charging box says AGM, this charger is not suitable for my particular AGM battery as the recommended charging voltage for my battery is lower than other AGMs. I asked what charger to use and he told me to look for one that had an actual switch that said 'Gel'. He didn't know offhand which of the Schumacher lines had it, but did mention the X line in Wal-Mrt. To make things even more confusing, the recommended battery charge rate listed in the Schumacher manual suggests that the lowest charge rate of 2 amps is not recommended for batteries in the 550-1000 CCA range. They recommend 9-17 hours at 4 amps or 6-11 hours. at 6 amps. Does anyone have any understanding of this conflicting information, e.g. B. a battery technician?
